Certification Night & T-Shirts

Certification night was all about fires!
How to start them, stop them, and manage them.
We could not get one started to save our lives!
We'll be sure to get more kindling for camp!

Over on the other side of the yard everyone was stenciling their shirts.
I didn't get a "finished product" shot but I'll put one up soon.
 Fire Supervisors
 T-Shirt supervisor
These three, especially Vicki and Melissa worked tirelessly to get this fire started.
They had the true spirit of perseverance.
In the end however, we ended up roasting our marshmallows over the flames of my my burning notebook paper.
Barbara serenaded us with sweet tunes from her iphone.
A dance party almost got started but we're going to break it down at camp for sure.
 Roasting.
All the pain was worth it!

...then they all just got crazy!

Craft Night

This last week we had our camp craft activity.
We made the cutest journals in America!

Hannah & Brooke crafting it up!
Vicki & Mary...with the same twisty hair idea.
 Ariana & Allie
...I think the hardest part was figuring out what paper and lettering to use
 Shyann & Emily
And here's Barbara lovingly painting the first-aid bags for the girls who couldn't make it to the first-aid activity.
She is obviously pleased with her work!

Girls...and a sea of crafting supplies...

Finished Products!!!

These turned out so cute I love each one of them!

Seriously, they look great!  I can't get over it!

First Aid

We had  a great first aid activity a few weeks ago.
We learned all about first aid and everyone who came passed off their certification for camp!
If you were not there, you can make it up at our next activity
(June 1st).
Emma and Mary splinting Ariana's "broken" arm.

Emily's lower leg fracture is all nice and splinted by Shyann.

And she did a great job.

Cheyenne shows off the slinged arm of a delighted Hannah

Now it's Hannah's turn to splint Cheyenne's leg.

Emma has a femur fracture that requires almost a full body splint!

Racked with pain!

Here is everyone putting together their awesome first aid kits and dipping their soon to be waterproof matches.

Finished Products!

You might be asking yourself, are those the value colors that you used to waterproof those matches? And I would have to say
 YES THEY ARE!!

Camp Kick-Off 2011

Our camp kick-off activity ROCKED!!
We climbed to the top of Ensign Peak--it was a liiiiittle steeper than I remember but everyone made it up!
We talked about our theme, unfurled the flag, and enjoyed the view.
 You girls are so awesome!
Camp is going to be pretty rad...does anyone say rad anymore?

We WILL be working on our jumping pictures...this one is pretty good though.
